Connecting Your Redtail Account to Relate

If your organization uses the Redtail integration, you can connect it to Relate to automatically synchronize your contacts and call and messaging activities between the two platforms. When the two platforms are connected, activities, messages, and calls from Relate sync back into Redtail and appear as tasks on the respective contact pages.

After an admin at your organization has enabled Redtail, follow these steps to connect it:

  1. In the top right, click on your profile picture, then select Workspace Settings.
  2. Select the Integrations tab.
  3. Under Redtail, click Connect Redtail Account.
  4. Log in to your Redtail account.
  5. You will be redirected back to Relate’s Integration tab, where you can view the integration status.

After Relate and Redtail accounts are connected, syncs occur every 10 minutes. A Relate workspace can only be connected to 1 Redtail account at a time.

FAQ

Why isn't a contact syncing correctly?

Contacts must have these 3 mandatory fields populated for the sync to occur:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Phone number with the primary flag

Double check that the contact has these fields in both platforms.

Why is the timestamp of an activity different between platforms?

Your Relate and Redtail accounts might be set to different time zones. Double check the timezone you have set for each account.

How fast do activities sync back to Redtail?

Usually activities appear within a few seconds in Redtail, if there is a higher number of concurrent activities it might take longer, in some cases it can be even 10 minutes.

What happens if contacts exist in both Redtail and Relate when I connect them?

The configured deduplication logic will check the contacts synced from Redtail, which helps to avoid duplicate contact entries. Any duplicate contacts that are not caught by the deduplication logic can be manually merged together into a single contact.
