WhatsApp Integration Onboarding

The WhatsApp onboarding process requires 3 steps:

  1. Admins must enable WhatsApp Business and WhatsApp Sender account types for their organizations.
  2. Admins must connect a WhatsApp Business Account. Requires a Meta Business Account. 
  3. Admins and/or workspace owners must connect a WhatsApp Sender. Requires a Meta Business Account.

I. Enable WhatsApp Business and WhatsApp Sender account types

Admins must enable two WhatsApp account types for their organization: 

  1. WhatsApp Business - connects a Hearsay organization to a WhatsApp Business Account. 
  2. WhatsApp Sender - allows individual users to connect their Relate number to WhatsApp and send/receive WhatsApp messages.

To enable the WhatsApp Business and WhatsApp Sender account types for your organization:

  1. In the admin view’s side menu, click Settings.
  2. In the Organization Settings tab, under Available Account Types, enable WhatsApp Business and WhatsApp Sender account types.

II. Connect a WhatsApp Business Account

Before connecting a WhatsApp Business account to Hearsay, you must have an existing Meta Business Account and be a Hearsay admin. Once connected, your Hearsay organization and WhatsApp Business account will become linked, and your organization can add WhatsApp Senders who will manage messaging. To connect a WhatsApp Business Account :

  1. In Hearsay’s top-right corner, click on your profile picture, then select Workspace Settings.
  2. Select the Accounts tab.
  3. Scroll to and click Connect WhatsApp Business.
  4. A Meta onboarding wizard launches. Complete the steps as outlined. 

III. Connect a WhatsApp Sender

Before connecting a WhatsApp Sender, you must have an existing Meta Business Account and your admin must have connected a WhatsApp Business account. Once connected, a WhatsApp Sender’s Relate phone number is linked to WhatsApp, allowing them to send and receive WhatsApp messages. 

To connect a WhatsApp Sender:

  1. In Hearsay’s top-right corner, click on your profile picture, then select Workspace Settings.
  2. Select the Accounts tab.
  3. Scroll to and click Connect WhatsApp Sender.
  4. A Meta onboarding wizard launches. Complete the steps as outlined.
