WhatsApp requires business users to initiate new conversations with an approved WhatsApp Template. Learn about WhatsApp’s messaging flow.
A WhatsApp Sender account type must be connected to enable WhatsApp messaging.
To initiate a new WhatsApp conversation in Hearsay Desktop:
- In the side menu, under Conversations, click Message & Call.
- In the top-right, click the New Conversations icon.
- Search for a contact that you’d like to message.
- Select the WhatsApp option for that contact.
- In the message composer, click Use a WhatsApp Template. A message template menu opens.
- Select a WhatsApp Template. The template will be pasted into the message composer.
- Click Send or Agree & Send.
- After getting a reply, you can send free-form messages or use more templates.
NOTE: Sending attachments, images, or contact cards isn’t currently supported on the WhatsApp Integration.
