As an administrator, you can create and suggest content for your organization. Our creating tool will allow you to schedule and suggest posts to specific regions or workspaces within your company to ensure that relevant and compliant content is shared on your advisors/agents' social media accounts and websites (if enabled).
You'll also be able to request approval from your company compliance team if needed before suggesting a post and making it available in the advisors/agents' libraries. To learn how to create suggested content, watch the brief video below or follow the steps that follow.
Create a Suggested Post
- In the Administration view, click (Create > Suggested Posts > New Post)
- A Publisher window will open, in which you can customize each section.
-
Post Text - This is where you can paste a link and/or write the text that appears in the post.
-
Add a link: if you wish to include a website/article in your post
- Note: When adding a link, a summary card will be generated, including a thumbnail, headline, description and domain name of the URL. This link can be removed from the body of the text and the summary card will remain.
- LinkedIn specific: If you wish to include the URL within the body of the text, do not include it at the end of the post as LinkedIn will strip the URL from the post. This is expected behavior.
- Facebook specific: Because Facebook does not allow for event publishing from third parties, posts that contain a Facebook event link will not successfully publish. Admins and end-users should not include Facebook event links in posts as this is not supported natively on Facebook.com
-
Additional formatting (if available for your organization):
-
# Hashtags
- Include hashtags by entering in the # symbol before publishing or scheduling a post. Examples include: #FinancialServices #Advisor #Agent
-
@ Mentions
- Twitter & Instagram: Type the @ symbol and include the name of your connection's account.
- Examples include: @NYT @TheEconomist
- Due to API limitations, mentions must be performed natively when using Facebook or LinkedIn and cannot be completed within Yext.
- Twitter & Instagram: Type the @ symbol and include the name of your connection's account.

-
Upload image/GIF/PDF/Video: to include one of these in your post. For instructions on adding video content to your library, refer to Creating and Suggesting Video Content for Your Organization.
- Provide multiple image options: Once you start the flow to add an image, select the Alternative Image Upload option. Admins will then be able to upload up to 9 images and set one as the default image that appears pre-selected for end users. Admins can also allow end users to upload their own images by selecting the checkbox below the uploaded images section.
-
Require end users to upload an image: By enabling the required user upload option and not attaching any images to the post, Admins ensure that end users must add a custom image before publishing. You can set this under Post Modification by selecting Not allowed-required modifications only, then checking the box for Image required.
- Alternative Post Text - Enter alternative text that can be used instead. (Refer to Adding Alternate Messages to Suggested Content for more information.)
- Workspace Specific Link - Enter a Dynamic URL to redirect links to advisors' websites without adding any steps to how the end-user publishes content from Yext. (Refer to Using Workspace Specific Links to Personalize and Redirect Templated Links with Dynamic URLs for more information.)
- Recommended Account Types - These are the social media networks users can publish this post to.
- Campaign Only - Make the post available only for campaigns. This doesn't put the post in a campaign, but makes it available for admins at your org to add to campaigns only.
- Modification of Post - Determine whether user modification of the post is allowed or not allowed.
- Available in Library - Determine whether the post is viewable in the library immediately, or will be available on a scheduled release date.
- Allow Publishing - Determine when the post can be published by users, and set a date where the post automatically expires.
- Suggest to - Make the post only available to users in certain hierarchies/regions, inividual workspaces, or workspace groups.
- Tags - Add tags to the post to make it easier to find.
- Note - Add an optional note to users at your organization (this is not visible to your users' social media audience).
4. After you've filled out information about the post, click Suggest Post to add it to your library now or on the date you selected. If you aren't ready to add it yet, click the down arrow on the Suggest Post button and select Save as Draft.
Note: Request Approval is available if your organization requires your library posts to be reviewed and approved for compliance purposes. Click on the dropdown arrow next to Suggest Post and select Request Approval.
