TestFlight (for iOS) and Firebase (for Android) are used to preview mobile apps and features before they are released to the general public in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
Admins and sandbox testers can preview most new Yext mobile features on their mobile Apple or Android devices using TestFlight or Firebase during the week before a major release. We will include TestFlight and Firebase links in the release note for each mobile feature that can be tested.
The TestFlight and Firebase versions of the app are not the production version of the Yext mobile app, and when you’re done testing, we recommend installing the production version from the App Store or the Play Store. Updates to the Yext mobile app will still be required to be completed via the app store when the feature goes into production.
Using TestFlight to Preview Features on iOS
To use the TestFlight version of the Yext mobile app, use your iOS device and follow these steps:
- Tap on the link provided in the release notes, which will take you to the associated TestFlight page.
- Follow the instructions provided by Apple to download the TestFlight app. If you have already downloaded the TestFlight app, then tap Start Testing under the Yext logo to preview the new features.
- After you have downloaded the TestFlight app, you will be allowed to begin previewing the new features being released.
For further information, see Apple’s page about using TestFlight.
NOTE: Once the TestFlight link has expired there will be a prompt asking for a code. This indicates that the link for testing is no longer valid.
Using Firebase to Preview Features on Android
To use the Firebase version of the Yext mobile app, follow these steps:
- Click on the Firebase link provided in the release notes.
- Enter the email address of the person who will receive preview access. This person will receive an email with an invitation to the app preview.

- Follow the instructions to download the Firebase version of the Yext mobile app and begin previewing the app.
