For phone numbers hosted for SMS texting on Relate, changing your voice provider may temporarily affect your ability to send or receive text messages. Any modification to your phone number’s configuration, including a change in voice carrier, can result in a disruption to SMS routing. This issue may occur once the porting or activation process with the new voice provider is fully completed.
After your new voice provider confirms that voice services are active, we recommend performing the following checks:
- Send an outbound text message from your Relate phone number.
- Verify inbound messaging by sending a test message to your phone number from another phone number.
If outbound and/or inbound messaging is unsuccessful, it is likely that your number requires re-onboarding for SMS on Hearsay’s platform. This is a routine process, and our team is happy to assist you. Please note that reinstating texting on your number may take anywhere from two days to one week.
