Admins can create a "multi-voice" experience for end users by attaching alternative versions of a post description that end users can choose from when they schedule or publish those posts. This allows for one post to be useful for a broader array of users, audiences, and networks with different character limits, and prevents multiple users in the same organization from posting the same content. Social media algorithms also favor posts with variable inputs such as alternative descriptions. To help increase efficiency and improve social media strategy, alternative text descriptions are enabled by default. You can create alternative descriptions manually, or generate them using AI.
Note: Mentions and alternative descriptions cannot be used in the same post. If you use an alternative description in a post, the mention feature is disabled, and vice versa.

Add Alternative Text Manually
Follow these steps to add alternate messages to a post:
1. In the Administration view, click (Create > Suggested Posts > New Post).
2. Enter the information in the Description field, which can include a caption, link, image, GIF or video. Here, we've added a link. Then click +Add Alternative Post Text (previously Add Alternate Message).
3. Enter the first alternate description. This will be the second description that shows up since there is already text entered in the original caption. Click Add an alternate description to add additional description.
4. Complete the remaining sections. You may want to leave a note to remind end users to scroll through the different options for the post copy. Then click Suggest Post.
Once shared to the Post Library, your advisors and agents will have the ability to choose the messaging that best aligns with their network.
Generate Alternative Text Using AI
You can also use AI to generate alternative descriptions. In order to generate descriptions, you must first write the original description for the post. Then, you can modify the original description by either selecting a new tone of voice and/or text length, or by writing a prompt describing your desired modifications.
To generate an alternative description with AI:
1. In the Administration view, click (Create > Suggested Posts > New Post), or select an existing post you want to add more descriptions to.
2. Enter your original description in the Description field, which can include a caption, link, image, GIF or video. Then click +Add Alternative Post Text (previously Add Alternate Message).
3. Click Generate With AI.
4. Choose either Select tone and length or Write a prompt and fill out the required information.
- Select tone and length: Allows you to apply a new tone or length to your original description. This option is best for creating alternative descriptions with the same general meaning but for different audiences or for simply having more choices for users to choose from. After clicking Select tone and length, choose the new tone of voice and/or length.
-
Write a prompt: Writing a prompt allows for more concise control over what the new description includes. When writing a prompt, describe how to rephrase or modify the original description, plus any other parameters. This option is best for more specific, nuanced requirements for alternative descriptions.
Examples:
- “Rewrite as a medium, professional post that includes information about contacting your financial advisor about debt options.”
- “Rewrite as a short, professional post that mentions housing affordability for audiences in HCOL areas.”
- "Make the description shorter and put more emphasis on the importance of retirement planning"
5. When you've either selected a new tone/length or written your prompt, click Generate.
6. The resulting AI generated prompt automatically appears in the Alternate Description text box, where you can edit the text or trim the character length if needed.
- If you're unsatisfied with the description, click Generate With AI again and repeat steps 4 and 5.
7. Optional Click Add Alternate Description again to generate or write more descriptions for your post. A post can have as many descriptions as you like.
8. When you're satisfied with your description(s), continue editing the post as normal and click Suggest Post.
