Profile variables enable you to add structured, personalized suggested content to the Post Library at scale. Personalized content performs better than generic content, and profile variables make it easier for users to regularly publish personalized posts without having to make manual edits or write their own post from scratch.
You must enable and configure this feature by contacting support@hearsaycorp.com. Once enabled, you can configure which workspace profile fields your users can manage themselves, which helps them add the profile data they need to publish certain Smart Posts. See Configure Workspace Profile Fields to learn more.
If your organization supports multilingual Sites URLs, you can select the URL in the language you want to make the post available to, for example, User's Website, (Spanish). When a user publishes the post, the URL links to that language version of their website.
Note: The Website URL variable is not supported on Instagram.
To add a profile variable to a Suggested Library post in the Administration view:
- In the side menu, click Create, then click New Post.
- When you’re ready to insert a variable in the post description, click the profile variable icon in the bottom left of the Text Box field. Variables appear in blue.
- Select which variable you want to insert, for example, the user’s name or phone number.
- Finish creating the post like normal and click Suggest Post.
Posts with profile variables appear in the user’s Post Library, in the new Personalize section.

When the user publishes a post that contains one or more profile variables, information from their workspace profile is auto-filled into the corresponding profile variable field(s), but the user cannot modify any part of the post manually. If the user is missing the corresponding information in their profile, an error appears on the post informing them they need to complete their profile to finish publishing.
